Golden Bear Notary respects your privacy and is committed to protecting any personal information that may be collected during the course of providing mobile notary and loan signing services. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected, how it is used, and how it is protected.
In the course of providing notarial and loan signing services, Golden Bear Notary may collect limited personal information necessary to complete the requested services. This may include:
Name, phone number, email address, and physical address used to schedule or coordinate signing appointments.
Information contained on government-issued identification (such as a Driver’s License, Passport, or other acceptable identification) as required by California Notary Law to verify the identity of signers.
California law requires notaries to maintain a sequential journal of all notarial acts. Journal entries may include:
• Name of signer
• Signature of signer
• Type of identification presented
• Date and type of notarization
• Thumbprint when required by law
These records are maintained in accordance with California Government Code § 8206.
Golden Bear Notary does not intentionally collect or store sensitive personal data such as Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, or confidential financial information outside of what is legally required for the notarization process.
Information collected is used solely for legitimate business and legal purposes, including:
• Scheduling and performing notarial services
• Verifying identity as required by California law
• Completing loan signing or estate planning document executions
• Maintaining legally required notary journal records
• Internal record keeping and business accounting
Golden Bear Notary does not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Golden Bear Notary understands that documents presented for notarization may contain sensitive personal or financial information. All documents are treated with the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Golden Bear Notary does not retain copies of notarized documents unless specifically required by law or requested by a contracting company as part of a signing assignment.
Reasonable safeguards are used to protect both physical and digital information. Notary journals and business records are stored securely to prevent unauthorized access.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Golden Bear Notary retains records only for as long as necessary to comply with California Notary Public laws and legitimate business purposes.
Notary journals are maintained permanently as required under California Government Code § 8206. Other business records, including scheduling information and communications, may be retained for accounting, tax, operational, or legal compliance purposes.
Golden Bear Notary takes reasonable measures to securely store and protect retained records.
California Notary Publics are required by law to maintain a permanent, sequential journal of all notarial acts performed.
These journals are legal records and may be subject to inspection by:
• The California Secretary of State
• Law enforcement agencies
• Other parties as permitted by California law
Golden Bear Notary complies fully with all applicable notarial recordkeeping requirements under California Government Code § 8206.
Golden Bear Notary may communicate with clients through third-party platforms such as:
• Facebook
• LinkedIn
• Instagram
• Email providers
• Website hosting services
These platforms may collect limited information according to their own privacy policies. Golden Bear Notary is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party platforms.
California residents may request information about the personal data that has been collected about them. However, certain records maintained by a Notary Public are governed by California Notary Law and must be retained as required by statute.
Golden Bear Notary is a commissioned California Notary Public.
